i read about this recently on serious eats and bought a can
![]() holy shit! this is as close as industrial america gets to a tasty paté for two dollars and sixty four cents plus tax. im tempted to reshape the corners and bring it to a party with a jar of cornichons and see what people do this is actually hilarious. it’s really good! i haven’t fried it yet because i ate the whole can before i had a chance — ETA: this is the original article https://www.seriouseats.com/2012/06/...d-of-spam.html ima say the jalapeño was a disappontment and i will not buy again. maybe it’s different from 6 years ago but yeah don’t bother today. the pepper though it’s truly bananas. and the regular stuff, fried, is a higher protein alternative to hot-dogs. but the pepper one! HELL YES. |

RIP Anthony Bourdain.
I loved Kitchen Confidential and his restaurant reviews. He had an ability to write about food in a way that crossed over to non-foodies like me. Hanged himself in a hotel room. Who knew? |

Like you said, there is a sense he always had it in him. I know he had a pretty heavy problem with drug addiction but he wrote a lot about overcoming that. But you never know.
