![]() jean pierre melville's second feature, based on jean cocteau's novel (cocteau also provides the narrator's voice). a competent movie--not damn good yet, but melville's hand is there--with a great screenplay. |

lovely. |
Quote:
I expected this movie to be crap but I enjoyed it more than any other movie I've seen this year. Not including HP 5, because that shit is in a league of its own. |

No, seriously, Ratatouille is a great movie. Aestetically (?) and technically (?) amazing and fun to watch. Glad you liked it, I feel less lonely on this damn board. ha ha. |
I've seen that too. It certainly was a lovely film. Made me smile that's for sure.

Pan's Labyrinth - brilliant.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNxebvMJ-1s. i also saw recently the amazing "Frank Film" - 9 minutes of the sound a man telling his autobiography in mundane tone entertwined with a track of the same man repeating objects beginning with the letter F that relate to what is going on in the autobiography. visually, it is accompanied by swirling collages of images cut from magazines that are relevant also to the autobiography. you can get it on youtube via UBUweb. |

My first viewing since it was in theaters. An improvement. I actually enjoyed it this time.

You, Me, and Dupree. On cable. I laughed a few times, but by the end it had totally jumped the shark.
|
Miami Vice: ok.
Hostel II: Cool. |

This movie is on digital cable ALL THE TIME. It is kind of frustrating. With that said, it contained an absolutely hilarious visual gag that must rank among my favorites. The part when Kate Hudson is trying to reach something high on the shelf. Owen Wilson's eyes....hahahaha. That got me. |

oh i'll check that out. btw there are a lot more seijun suzuki trailers in youtube. awesome. --- anyway yesterday i saw ![]() the poster lies-- it's really in black & white! good movie. |

some earthsea crap movie made by the scifi channel; it was crap, poorly acted, cheesy in general; after 20 minutes of disappointment i proceeded to ignore the thing while i did some work in front of the tv. i could retell the plot, it was kind of obvious shit. i thought it was going to be science fiction & they give me some sword and sorcery shit-- no fair.
|
oh shit i almost forgot, after that, i saw
Einstuerzende Neubauten: Palast Der Republik (2004) <-- i had to copypaste that, i cant spell german ![]() it's available for instant online viewing @ netflix-- i shit you not-- & the sound is pretty good!! |
Death Proof
Dead Man's Shoes Death Proof was waaaaay more funny and interesting than what I expected after hearing some of my friends' "reviews". Dead Man's Shoes is really nice, except for the ending... |

John Waters will be performing live @ the Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ. I'm not sure of the date but it's supposed to be a "Holiday Show". |

The best scene Tarantino's ever filmed: the expression of awe on Rosario Dawson's face as she watches Zoe Bell ride atop the speeding car. The scene gave me goosebumps and it still gives me goosebumps whenever I think about it. ::: ::: ::: ![]() |
"This is England"
great, even if predictable, to an extent. |
the exorcist - note to self, dont eat while watching this.
|
Die Hard with a vengence. It ruled as much as ever. I also watched Say Anything and that wasn't as great as I thought it would be.

I posted this a few pages ago in this thread. It was a good film, but abit "is that it?". |
![]() Good film. I didn't expect it to be so graphically violent. Not for kids. |
![]() English title: "The Edge of Heaven" Very good but not very joyful. The director seems to be influenced by Almodovar and Kieślowski. |
