Quote:
that will be like a walk in the park for PSV |
Real Madrid and Man City have both laughable groups
|
Group D looks like it got lost on the way to the Europa Cup
|
lol yes (d)
i have yet to see schalke, last year they were decent though keeping 1 eye on hannover-dortmund atm. 0-0 almost halftime, reus has had some great chances. can't pay complete attention due to work but hannover putting up a fight. -- oh, halftime... interested in seeing where monaco is at these days, having lost mbappé. also wanna see psg now that the wonderboy moved there. videos of his goals have been firing up the interwebs already this season. lmfao @ neymar. |
I know Monaco just signed Nacer Chadli from West Brom. Not a huge move but, ya know, it is what it is.
Lots of interesting Prem games this weekend but no real marquee one between any of the big hitters. So I suppose the main interest for the neutral will be in the Burnley-Man U one, to see if Jose can turn things around, while I'll obviously be behind the sofa watching West Ham v Wolves. |
ha ha ha, behind the sofa. i think i get what you mean.
i hope i can get to see that game actually. i doubt it, but you never know. they'll probably show the chelsea game instead. liverpool-lester looks like a contest. and yeah, the man u game holds some soap-opera kind of suspense. not sure about football but guess we'll see. btw, the supposed english wunderkind sancho is playing right now, but dortmund is doing nothing to make it interesting, and it's still 0-0. good for my paperwork though-- the inbox is cleared and all papers filed. |
Lei-Liv is great so far. Liverpool 2 up but Leicester really going for it.
|

i woke up too late to catch the first half, but that bonehead move by alisson hilarious and... he’s probably getting yelled at rn |
Liverpool were the better team but Alisson's stupid attempt at a Cruyff turn let Leicester back in and they could've got a draw. Firmino looks so much better when Hendo plays instead of Keita.
Anyway, West Ham Wolves now. Worry beads out and ready. |
Good luck...
|
chelsea game (boring) having tech difficulties so the broadcaster switched to whu-wol
works for me! |
Hudderfield score, then 30 seconds later Everton equalise. I'll take that *sweats*
|
i’d rather sweat than snooze
cant get into this chelsea burnmouth business only good prospect at the moment is some sausages i got in a pan |
sausages were great!
sweet italian sausages with a tomato wine reduction... good stuff.... plus a glass of cab... all set now if burnedmouth scores i might get interested in this contest... or maybe it’s time for a siesta |
Quote:
Cab? What time is it there?! However, I'd kill for some sausages right now. |
Demo if I could give you a hug right now I would. Feel bad for you.
|
my condolences dude
i saw the scoreboard a moment ago riot? |
In fairness it could've easily gone either way but we needed that point bad. Our next five are against Everton, Chelsea, Man U, Brighton and Spurs. It's not looking good.

dont know what to tell you except that pellegrini’s haircut is worrisome im serious. it’s like the world stoped in 1975 for him or something from the little i saw i did not like how your team was playing. very plain. Quote:

watching bayern v. stuttgart right now
bayern with their same old,. stuttgart putting up some nice resistance. pavard is still at stuttgart, miraculously, after his glorious world cup. |
MC should be ahead but Newcastle aren't making life easy for them. Great game so far.
|
Quote:
bayern ahead also. game NOT great, but decent enough. trying to understand kovac’s project here... nothing dazzling so far. |
kovac has been having the good sense of placing mueller in the middle with lewandowski and they’re pairing up beautifully
no more mueller on the wings means mueller scores & scores bayern 3 stutgart 0 at 75’ |
Watched the WH game properly this morning. First off, that Nuno Espirito Santo knows what he's doing. Wolves aren't great but they're solid, organised and won't be a walkover for anyone
Now WH. Tactically we're a mess. I dunno what Pellegrini's trying to do. Spends 40m on Anderson then plays him out of position. Arnie's ok but evidently not a natural finisher. Chicharito is but struggles to get starts, and when he does play Pelle's has him deeper than he prefers. So his priority has to be finding a lineup and formation that gets the best out of Arnie, Anderson and Chicharito. But I'm worried that 4 games in now (and a full pre-season) he still doesn't seem to know his best xi or formation. I'm sure we'll improve (we have to) but will we even get that time? Looking at the upcoming run of fixtures it's not inconceivable we could go into November (NOVEMBER!) without picking up a single point. Has a team ever come back from that? I've still gotta believe Pelle's gonna turn it around but considering he's currently the 3rd highest paid Prem manager (equal with Klopp ... think about that) I'm disappointed so far. The man needs to sort shit out, and fast, cos this really isn't good enough, especially for someone earning more than the likes of Poch, Sarri and Emery. Cut your hair, go back to a 3-5-2 and start Chicharito as a goal poacher ... which is what he does well and the reason we bought him in the 1st place! You don't need to be on 7m a year to see the obvious so it's doubly worrying when someone who is, apparently can't. To think I was actually quite optimistic going into the season. |
yes! nuno is great. great use of limited resources and great cohesion.
nice analysis of your team, i hope they implement/work it out. so, man u, i saw, not the most fun game, but nice goals. rashford an idiot. someone in the equipment room messed up their laundry haaa haaa haa. and watford beat spurs? lol they broadcasted the wrong game here. catching up with schalke-berlin, schalke apparently a mess, one goal behind at halftime. and here i was hoping they were champions-ready. |
Wolves will be fine. Nuno has a proper team there that'll get points even if they lack any really outstanding individuals.
I missed the Man U game but I'm kinda pleased they won just because it gives Jose more time, and the longer he's in place the longer Man U will be in limbo. And watching Spurs lose is always a pleasure. But what's happened to Sane? A revelation last season and had the whole summer to prepare but has hardly featured so far and wasn't even in the squad yesterday. Apart from as backup maybe Pep's starting to wonder if Man City even need a left sided midfielder with Mendy in defence. |
word about sane was that he was slacking in training? and therefore, pep.
strange that kun played no? after his shisha with teenage model photo lmfao. |
Quote:
did you watch this game? I'm happy for Hertha's Ondrej Duda who scored two that night ... he's a fellow Slovakian who had unfortunate 2 past seasons because of countless injuries but looks like he's finally recovered and ready to rock. |
Quote:
I don't think Pep cares so long as players give him everything on the pitch. A similar thing happened to Sterling without any consequences. Had they done something illegal it may have been different. |
Quote:
yes! the latter part anyway, because the first half overlapped with the man u game and i forgot to change the channel. both of of his goals were great. the first one i missed live (but saw on replay), showed a blend of pace and power and and accuracy, the second one was a beautiful goal kick at the end of the game, right into the corner pocket, a perfect shot. Quote:
ahhhh. it thought for smoking, but maybe “he didnt inhale” xD |
international weekend...
...i should get out of town and do something away from tv xD |
or watch the Women play football
Norway against Dutch is playing now oh no it was already finished we lost :( |
Quote:
it's a nice game, but looks more like tennis. like: team tennis. pass the ball, pass the ball, pass the ball, kick the ball, don't touch the opponent hard to explain. i don't get the same emotion Quote:
damn. condolences. |
Tonight there's a bizarre match scheduled: Slovakia will play a friendly against Denmark, however Danish players had some beef with their national football association, hence all the best players (incl. Eriksen, Kjaer, Schmeichel, Sisto ... basically all of them) refused to come. The association wanted to save the date to avoid penalties, hence the Danish collected players from 3rd-4th national division and even indoor football players.
I'm sensing a hilarious match indeed. |
^^^ aaaaaaah!
i got a newsletter about that but it didnt make sense to me—the writer was trying to be too clever with shakespeare quotes and i skipped the writeup. thanks for the explanation! so,10-0, you think? |
Quote:
Assuming Slovakia win. Imagine the humiliation if they lose or even draw. England have a meaningless friendly with Spain on Saturday (God I hate these international breaks). I'm just shitting myself ahead of West Ham Everton |
Quote:
:D it'll be another draw for Everton I'm sure if it. I'm at a wedding on Saturday so I'm gutted to say I won't be watching the England match. Yup, totally gutted to be going to a wedding with a free bar (NEVER been to one of those) and a ceilidh and I won't get to see a friendly no one wants. Heard Beckham has called his new team Inter Miami? Awful. Just awful. It's no Miami Stanley is it? |
Quote:
What in the name of fuck was he thinking? I wanted to like them and maybe even adopt them as my MLS team, but that name ... I can't support that ... wankiest name ever. I bet even Victoria cringed when he told her. |
eh, it's club internacional de fútbol, makes good sense, miami being miami and all.
don't know what reports you guys reading, i'm looking at the logo and... seems legit lol ![]() o wait wait wait it reads internacional club the futbol which is a weird syntax in spanish so, okay, fail WAIT WAIT WAIT i'm seeing 2 logos now. confusing. this one would read correct ![]() "the miami pink flamingos" |
