Have to feel for Iran. They really went for it. Ronaldo missed a pen and should've got a red card. Iran missed a sitter in the last minute that would've seen them go through and Portugal knocked out. Amazing game.

i saw spain. lazy as fuck. well let's all not root for uruguay now so we don't jinx them ha ha ha ha -- ps- i did shit in points today. my uruguayans didn't play, my spanish defenders got punked, my portugueses were not even in the game, and costa just farted all game long |
Yeah but at least you didn't captain Ronaldo :(

It's a shame you know the result now cos it really was tense as fuck. Ronaldo had a nightmare and Portugal now face Uruguay who will hopefully pummel them. But if Ronaldo scores the winner that sends them through, he should've got a str8 red in the 2nd half so should be banned for that game. |

with this of course i have cursed myself for multiple failings Quote:
ronaldo getting banned would be maximum satisfaction. he makes us all mortals look like shit. :D (the fucker. but really) ok i’ll try rewatching if possible. serious. — watching. bit of a dull game. scandals aside |

word. I really felt for the Iranians. What I didn't like was the cringe-worthy diving and constant arguing with the referee, however I believe it was a part of the tactics and it seemed to work. But the Iranians showed a lot of heart and passion. Plus their goalkeeper is totally awesome and I believe he'll soon sign a contract in a good European team. |
Yeah it's a shame when teams that clearly can play a bit only do so when they've nothing to lose.

I wouldn't write Spain off, if only because none of the teams so far look shoe ins themselves. This might hopefully be a tournament where an outlier finally lifts the trophy. Croatia, Belgium, England (there, I said it), Uruguay all look at least as viable as any of the so-called Big Guns so far. Put Ramos in a situation where he's forced to defend and he makes mistakes. He's a great captain/leader of men, a big game player, and an invaluable source for important goals, but I've never really trusted him purely as a centre-back. In that role I'd take someone like Godin over Ramos all day long - even though Ramos offers more all round. |
^^ godin yesterday was the best uruguayan player for me
super-supremo sure the attackers always get all the glory but the whole cliche of "standing on the shoulders of giants" is apt here -- can't catch the france/denmark game this morning: telemundo is showing peru/australia, and i hope it's a good show. later it will be argentina/nigeria which is O MAN THE PRESSURE. -- Quote:
looks like he's out today - shit, he's gonna have to stay off airplanes for 30 days? fortunately he plays in russia so should not be a huge inconvenience. ok game is on. |
wow carrillo super-goal
— nice first half, back and forth |

You're not missing anything. Maybe the most boring 45 minutes of the tournament so far. |
Quote:
Absolutely. Him and Modric have been my players of the tournament so far. |
Quote:
oh man this team could have gone instead of denmark but they blew their chance |
bad news: Oz is out
good news: assistant coach Van Bommel can start his new job tomorrow as the new head coach of PSV ;) |
france-denmark 0-0 sounds like some kind of mutually convenient agreement ha ha ha ha
lucky for me, varane gets a clean sheet |
Yawn...
I took the afternoon off to make sure this would be a stalemate. At least I didn't work. Like the French so-called team. Too bad Fekir won't be given more time. Too bad the other blokes were sooo bad (Sidibé, Dembélé, and Griezmann aged 58). |
^^why no fekir?
just watched the “highlights” (lol) of that game and he brought the only excitement |
Schone is in my squad and he didn't play any minutes :(
So according to Van Marwijk, the coach of Oz they were much better and the Peru goals were just luck (and one of them offside too). I've no clue if he's right, I only saw the two minute recap. |
Aguero dropped, apparently after his comments about the manager.

peru started a bit on the defensive yes and would go back on it in waves but when they attacked they were better and more dangerous and entertaining. advíncula basically owned his flank and when he connected with carrillo they brought mega-danger carrillo’s goal was a beauty- guerrero lobbed it from the left over the area he caught it mid-air BLAM peru missed some goals and yes australia missed some opportunities but quality is quality australia desperate resorted to many tactical fouls to stop peru’s counters which earned them 1/2 ton yellow cards basically, CONMEBOL beats the oceania football federation (don’t know the initials) now i pray for argentina. fucks sakes argentina you must make it. i love uruguay but they can’t be the only ones don’t make me root for shittyfuck neymar’s team. Why would you have to root for Brazil if Argentina go out? |

Such a shame Moses is effectively a bench warmer for Chelsea. Great player.
|
o man my telemundo went offline and i missed the penalty kick wtf
|
Soft pen but Mascherano was stupid to give the referee the option
|
Sampauli needs to put his differences with Aguero behind him. Argentina have to score now or they're gone.
|

if not them— croatia? please don’t let the likes of denmark squeak by to the cup — so anyway: meza, uzoho and idowu have each netted me a single point today great score or what? — now seriously: as soon as argentina won sampaoli scooted out under the tunnel. what is up with that? |
