do! (or should i say "desitively"?) he's great. and i love how fess tells the story of how he learned to play the piano with broken keys. pick them up from the street trash, drag them to an alley, fix them, etc.-- just brilliant. |

The new Deerhunter song "Snakeskin" from forthcoming album Fading Frontier, out Oct. 16th on 4AD.
Here's the weird, "Black Snake Moan meets Marilyn Manson in 1996" video if you're interested. Kind of feels like they're trying to re-capture a bit of the more urgent energy of their first few records, while also turning another corner with their sound. I have liked all of their records, but Monomania and Halcyon Digest were both so laid back and stoney. I would welcome a revitalized Deerhunter for album no.6. This track almost reminds me of Embryonic-era Flaming Lips (almost). |

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...5681YC352hcjoL I really liked also his Rock`n Roll Gumbo album. I have always loved Canned Heat-boogie, but the best boogie in the world is New Orleans piano boogie! |
Have you other noticed some similarity in these songs:

I'm for Sister and ATL too. Daydream Nation becomes my favorite when I listen to it, but I listen very rarely, and when it's over it feels like I've just finished a book. It's not that I'm tired of it, but I've had the experience again, and it'll be a while before I feel the need to go back. Sister is not like that. That's the album I think about when I think of Sonic Youth. And ATL is the kind of record I can play any time. Day after day. Bad Moon Rising and Goo probably round out the top 5. But the order always changes. Except for #1 and #2. Those are always Sister and ATL. In some ways I think A Thousand Leaves is the perfect Sy album, in that in contains practically every element of their sound in a way the popular favorites like Murray Street don't, despite being also great records. But I drink your milkshake, so... |

1. Sister 2. EVOL 3. ATL 4. Washing Machine Rest albums are equally great, but Experimental is least favourite, but even that is greater than 99 % albums Iīve heard. |
