A little "backstory" on that shot: I took that pic in the very first room of the Arsenale exhibition at this year's venice Biennale. I was pretty lucky to be there right when those awesome looking guys in uniforms were visiting the same room. I really like how it turned out, because I had to act FAST before they moved or noticed a creepy guy taking pics behind them...heh. |
that's incredible. it looks like you had them posing for you.

Kind of. Didn't want to post pictures just by myself. So, glad to have you back. Also: These are quite beautiful. You have a firm grasp of depth and composition. |

Thanks Antagon. I really enjoy your photos, they have a sort of distinguishable quality/feel to them, like some cinematic appeal, similar to frames pulled from a movie, they make you feel "close" to the subjects/objects. I don't remember if I asked you already about it, but what gear do you use? And nice to see another pic of the cat, hehe! here are a couple more of my bad boys growin'up.

Thank you. I currently use a Canon 700D with a standard (18-55 mm) and a telephoto (75-300 mm) lens. I like to play around a lot with the latter. I'm more prone to use lower exposures in the Iso-department and am generally very fond of lighting sources that are coming from a lower angle. Two polaroids, a rebranded Fuji Instax and a cheap Lomo are among my possessions as well. But as of late, I've mostly been using my DSLR. Beautiful! And wow, they've grown. I'm really fond of the composition you apply to your photos. Everything seems so vivid and somewhat kinetic. There's something powerful about the angle of the last one. It really makes the two of them come across as very majestic and elegant. |

bit sad to see this thread almost "dead"...
kaki king live in her latest live set with project mapping on guitar. loved it. Almost the same angle in each one (I was sitting in a chair, eh!), but worth a few sample shots imho, looked amazing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
