[batreleaser style] dead alive rules. 10/10. beware children at play is pretty funny/boring. i watched the first 30 minutes of halloween 2 online and i decided i don't need to watch the rest to know it's absolutely terrible. I'm usually more open minded than that, but Rob zombie is terrible, and I can't imagine the last hour being any better.Speaking of Traci Lords, anyone seen "Skinner"? that's a pretty fun movie, with Traci rolling around in a bed masturbating while a fat slob spies on her and there are random shots of the ocean. This has something to do with Ted Raimi cutting off people's skin and wearing them like real uniforms. Features a somewhat hilarious/genuinely shocking scene where he puts on a black man's skin and starts talking "jive". Not as offensive it sounds but still surprisingly in bad taste. Good movie! Has Ricki Lake in it, too! Real weird. Also reccomend "Shock 'Em Dead". Sid and Nancy... you know, I wish Alex Cox had directed some more movies, he had some real talent. never liked sid and nancy though, it's just 90 minutes of people screaming. and the johnny rotten portrayal is so terrible. Funny movie though.

October is horror month every sunday with the old lady. We watched Kwaidan most recently. Pretty cool Japanese ghost story film. Awesome sounds!

dandy dust - 7/10
This film is more insane than Reflections of Evil, Death Powder, Shaye and Kiki: Funny Bubble, and Visions of Suffering.. combined. It's not a good movie, but it is FUCKING CRAZY. Here's a small clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JihodxIkl_k |
these 3 short films:
What's a girl like you doing in a place like this? (Martin Scorcesse) 5/10 Some parts were amazing, but over all it just failed to pack the punch it should have. Six men getting sick (six times) (David Lynch) ?/10 How do you rate this? Excellent mind fuck. The Alphabet (David Lynch) 9/10 Amazing surreal mind fuckage abound. Very haunting, very cool visuals. If I felt like it I'd write something more in depth but I just got done with a school paper so screw that, but yeah... awesome short film. |
^^^ Yeah, all those shorts rule. Alphabet is probably my favorite Lynch thing.

my wife and I both loved it. It was really really good. Definitely see it. BTW, the director also wrote Urban Legend 3: Bloody Mary which we saw years ago and were very surprised at the script. It was a really self-aware film that was almost an homage to Candyman. Impressive for a cheapo direct to DVD sequel toss-off. But yeah. See Trick R Treat. |
Poultrygeist is okay. I'm a friend with Lloyd and have all his movies but I just got kinda bored with it. Saw it in theaters at a surprise screening last month. Looked beautiful on the big screen. The best song was cut from the movie ("S-U-I-C-D-E")!

After Hours is alright, I watched it at the same time as that Bill Murray movie where he plays the clown who robs the bank and I found them both kinda similiar (you know, wandering around the city at night and constantly getting into these ridiculous situations). After Hours definitely picks up as it goes along, it's definitely not the worst movie ever or whatever Jemina Pearl said about it in that one interview.
Conquest is hilarious, one of the worst Fulci films but one of the most fun. I'd check out New Gladiators if I were you, haha. |

I actually think the finalé with all the mirrors is one of the best things I've ever seen, definitely. Also, the giant talking stone head THE PENIS IS MIGHTER THAN THE GUN or whatever the fuck it said. Pretty awesome. But yeah I probably would've appreciated it more a long time ago. Still pretty mindblowing and it took me to a time when major movie studios would actually spend millions of dollars on this shit. |
I watched:
![]() deadly prey - 6/10 (hilariously bad rambo knockoff) ![]() death drug - 8/10 (this one is unbelievable) ![]() magic of the universe - 6/10 (this one's really weird.. a kid's movie, with a distinct Jodorowsky vibe... a talking severed head and such) ![]() pig chicken suicide - 5/10 (what the fuck's up with the dvd art? Um.. yeah. This one was.. um... yeah) |
I dnt know what Pig Chx Suicide is, but with the artwork -- I probably never will find out.

the title however is IRRESISTIBLE --- atsonic - john boorman was pretty badass - you've seen deliverance and his 1980 excalibur im sure, and after deliverance i don't think anyone would deny him any money. he's still making movies. |
I guess you have a point, but can you imagine a film like Zardoz coming out today? Well, then again, I couldn't even imagine Deliverance coming out (in theaters) today, for the most part. Times have changed, obviously.
Re: PIG CHICKEN SUICIDE ... a veritable assault on the senses, mixing violent images of animal butchery, racial strife and surrealism to tell the story of two Koreans living in Japan, who's love is destroyed due to overwhelming racial discrimination. This seriously bizarre and demented film tells the story of a weird guy,who thinks that he's a chicken and works in a slaughterhouse. He eats dirt, walks like a chicken and masturbates whilst seeing Japanese woman touching herself. "Pig Chicken Suicide" is a gross art-house Japanese piece of sleaze that is as dirty as they come.I enjoyed this demented little flick and you should too,if you like surreal and off-beat cinema |
The guy who made pig chicken suicide made a really cool 3 hour movie called NOISEY REQUIEM, and he actually set fire to the roof of a building (without permits of course) and filmed the firefighters putting the fire out.

The dolphin rescue scene was brilliant. It's funny that you mention New Gladiators, I was just watching the trailer for it a few nights ago. |
Yeah, I'm a big Fulci fan. I have been for a long time. I find him really interesting. I enjoy how shoddy and inept some of his films were, when he was CLEARLY a talented director ("Lizard in a Woman's Skin" is extremely well-directed, almost mindblowingly so).
I think some of his horror films are genuinely horrifying, too. I like how all his films have this really weird rhythm to them, in the editing and the dialogue and such. I dunno. I actually think he's quite underrated, usually people that talk about him in any context focus only on Zombie, House by the Cemetary (bleh), and the Beyond. There's actually a lot of amazing stuff in his huge body of work. |
The Beyond is incredible.
|
Yeah, Beyond and Gates of Hell are both mindblowing, to me. Also love New York Ripper, Duckling, and Lizard quite a bit.
Of course, Manhattan Baby is probably the worst movie of all time. Fulci had some bullshit. ... But yeah, the atmosphere in the Beyond was incredible. The music! Fuck. Kinda overbearing and ridiculous but so powerful. |

Yeah, Rope is good, probably my favorite cock aside from Vertigo...
