Got me into music, in general.

I listened to them for almost 3-4 years so I know what's on each album and what most of the rare shit sounds like (because Napster was worth a damn and had endless amounts of rare shit on it). They're a band for me now though that I've sort of digested and absorbed and don't need to go any further with. I still love them to death, though.

krastian 03.25.2006 02:31 PM

My second favorite drummer ever....Dave Fucking Grohl!!! He has been a huge influence on me.

marleypumpkin 03.25.2006 10:06 PM

Does anyone have any comments on the interview I posted?

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 03.25.2006 10:07 PM

They make good music.

schizophrenicroom 03.25.2006 10:08 PM

I thought it was interesting, Marley.

static-harmony 03.25.2006 10:53 PM

Nirvana is fucking awesome.I think bleach is fucking great.

Yeah, whenever Kurt, Krist, & Dave were together, locked in an uncomfortable interview, or just a wierd situation, they would always pull together into a & start acting zany, & saying off the wall comments. That's what I liked about the interview. Sound quality wasn't that great though.
Obviously done from a mini tape recorder.

king_buzzo 06.03.2006 04:58 AM

ok i finally found a thread about them... my favourite band ever (exept for mudhoney and sonic youth)

incesticide is my favourite album if you can call in an album cause its on those anti bootleg compilations

krastian 06.03.2006 05:11 AM

^Well not my favorite, but all I have to say is Aneurysm:D

Pax Americana 06.03.2006 05:12 AM

I've recently rediscovered my love of Nirvana. In Utero is my favorite by them. The anxiety present on that record is so crushing, I think it's one of the most depressing albums I've ever heard.

Trasher02 06.03.2006 05:13 AM

It's great band.
somewhere in my top 15 bands probably

Yeah In Utero is the best album.
Though Bleach is really fantastic too.

alyasa 06.03.2006 05:15 AM

Kurt Cobain is a fucking genius.

krastian 06.03.2006 05:28 AM

Don't even start me guys, not tonight:p

alyasa 06.03.2006 05:30 AM

Your scent is still here in my place of recovery.

LifeDistortion 06.03.2006 03:00 PM

We Nirvana fans all need to start a petition to get Nirvana Unplugged on DVD.

h8kurdt 06.03.2006 03:08 PM

I'm surprised they've not released it already. Which gives a case for Courtney not being a bitch selling them out.

nomadicfollower 06.03.2006 03:26 PM

I really like Nirvana. They got me into 'good' music.
Bleach is the best, then In Utero, then Nevermind, then Inscetiside.

h8kurdt 06.03.2006 03:28 PM

In Utero>Nevermind>Bleach>Incesticide

best songs of each album
B-Papercuts
N-CAYA
I-Big Long Now
I-Scentless Apprentice

finding nobody 06.03.2006 03:41 PM

h8kurdt, i always got the impression you hated kurt

they opened the door to sonic youth for me. but aside from that everything they done was really really good. nirvana's next record would've kicked ass to.
does anyone have the bootleg from nirvana's first live show? all i've heard is heartbreaker off of the box set. if someone could upload it i would be forever greatful

I still have it on VHS, but not the whole show obviously. I'm down.

king_buzzo 06.03.2006 04:20 PM

unplugged was amazing...

linky for something really cool: http://http://youtube.com/watch?v=BO...na%20unplugged

LifeDistortion 06.03.2006 06:15 PM

That was cool. And hearing them jamming a bit to "Sweet Home Alabama" was pretty fun. That's what was so cool about the Nirvana Unplugged, tons of silly between songs banter between the band that was cut out of the airing on MTV and even apparently a lot cut out from the CD release.

atsonicpark 06.03.2006 07:46 PM

Nirvana fucking suck.

krastian 06.03.2006 09:00 PM

^Hey dude didn't you just say earlier that you don't in fact shit on "every" thread.....just sayin'.

finding nobody 06.04.2006 12:31 AM

no. that's the '91 reading festival. there's a lot of talk about nirvana breaking up and kurt being sick, so jokingly, kurt is wheeled on stage on a wheelchair. this is the set:
  • Breed • Drain You • Aneurysm • School • Sliver • In Bloom • Come As You Are • Lithium • About A Girl • tourette's • Polly • Lounge Act • More Than A Feeling (jam) • Smells Like Teen Spirit • On A Plain • Negative Creep • Been A Son • All Apologies • Blew • Dumb • Stay Away • Spank Thru • Love Buzz • The Money Will Roll Right In • D-7 • Territorial Pissings • The Star-Spangled Banner (jam)
EDIT: you beat me to it Kegmama! also my version is the PRO shot. thus, it is not shaky and the sound is sounboard quality...

pantophobia 06.04.2006 12:54 AM

i was a big nirvana fan a few years back, paid 200 for a pennyroyal tea single (an investment that will really pay off), and it peaked during the period when "you know you're right" was about to be released

my interest cooled due to fan base base being weird "places like live nirvana forum and such", crappy radio saturation, and my interest can go so far for a band that has not exited for 12 years and was't the most musically influential

did get two original press boots too: trick or treat and first live show,

you can also hear krist singing "macho, macho man" during love buzz...

soniknirve 06.04.2006 01:21 AM

here are a few songs from the fecal matter demo. enjoy!...

atsonicpark 06.04.2006 01:46 AM

Why didn't Kurt Cobain ever drive? He preferred to ride shotgun.
