Rhodes is beautiful, we went there a couple of years ago. But, yes, I know what you mean about too many British tourists. We went to one "Greek" restaurant where it was actually quite difficult to get anything Greek to eat - beleive it or not, they claimed to have run out of pitta bread, and hummus. It was nice to hire a car and head over to the western side of the island where it was pretty quiet and we could just buy bread, cheese and stuff like that and make up a picnic.

I loved the town of Lindos ![]() It was easy to get lost in the labyrinth of little white houses and suddenly we ended in someone's back yard. A beautiful place. Other than that, the capital town of Rhodes was just all "Irish pubs" and "Swedish bars". |
Yes, we liked Lindos too. We were staying at Pefkos, a few miles down the coast, and we spent quite a bit of time there. I wouldn't have wanted to be in Lindos in the evening though, that was when all the drunken Brits came out to play and spoiled the place.
I loved how clean and clear the water was. Most days I spent swimming and just watching the fish go by. |
I was watching topless young Swedish ladies go by
(when my girlfriend's eagle eye wasn't spotting me). |
