that are pleasent news thank you because nobody i asked knew the jagmaster |
So, what do you think of my Mustang CHOUT?
|
Go for it Magublafix!
You can always ask about them in the Jazzmaster/Jaguar section at the Fender Forum: http://www.fenderforum.com *edited to be more specific* |
Nice man. Why is your decal gone? I couldn't find that info.
My pickups in my Mustang were so weak. I replaced the bridge with a Seymour Duncan cool rails mini-humbucker (voiced to sound close to a Fender single coil with out the hum and high output). I'm gonna replace the neck with another mini humbucker, though I'm not sure what yet. |
Hey thank you CHOUT
|
You're totally welcome Megublafix.

It might be a refinish job, or it might be the original way it was made. I'm not sure why the decal is gone. Try this address instead;
http://www.smallclone.com/mustang/vintage, click on '64-'68. I know what you mean about the pick-ups being weak. Mine are from '66 so they're that much weaker. |
Here are my guitars:
![]() The one on the left is a Hondo II Gibson LP Custom copy. I love it. Plays nice, stays in tune, sounds good. The one in the middle one is a random 60's japanese jaguarish guitar I own. I don't really like the single coils in it. I don't like single coils because they have less balls and they don't work with my blues driver as well, but it feeds back really nice. The one on the right is my Hondo Neck Thru. It is more comfortable and easier to play than the Hondo II, and has a very pristine treble punch to the bridge pickup. It doesn't stay in tune quite as well as the Hondo II, but is a bit more versatile. Probably my second favorite guitar. ![]() ![]() That is my Oscar Schmidt that I put new pickups in and did a curddy DIY paint job on. I think I'm gonna put some 11s on it so it stays in tune better. |
vox guitars are pretty
![]() phantom 12 string and the teisco del ray is awesome looking ![]() i think i found this teisco for $25 once ![]() |
And here are some of my dream guitars:
![]() I like how it is sort of an over the top design, but not two over the top like a V or anything. http://images.google.com/url?q=http:.../dan-G2web.jpg Savage Clone has the non wah version of this, and I envy him. I want the wah version though, more modding possibilities If I can find ![]() ![]() I want a rickenbacker someday. http://www.rocknrollvintage.com/prod...vis%20bean.jpg http://www.krappyguitars.com/punk3.jpg ![]() Girl Brand Guitars are really cool. |

Hey CHOUT, do you know if you can get those for Jaguars? I hate the way the bridge pickup sounds so I want to get that replaced, but a full sized humbuckers costs like $200 (not included the actual price of the pickup) to get installed. |
I have a Jagmaster II which is the current edition that the Squire line is making/selling (btw, Squire is made by Fender, they are seperate but not necessarily in all ways) its pretty decent for the price, better than almost any other squire model out there, though because i use the tremelo it will fall out of tune more readily however it sounds good, not terribly thin like alot of squires, the humbuckers give it some bite... the hardware is not like actual fenders but is a step up on most other squires, i bought it because i wanted a second guitar as a backup to my fender tele custom and one where i wouldn't worry about it if i thrashed it and trashed it... though the frets are abit soft, the wood chips abit more easily but its added character. If you can, try to attempt to find an original Vista Series Jagmaster (the 1st ones, from teh 90's) they were made in Japan using leftover Jaguar/Jagmaster parts when those guitars were reissued in the 90's, and are of the highest quality of all the jagmasters they are roughly about $100 more than the Jagmaster II but supposedly worth it, if i knew this before i would've searched out a Vista Series... anyways whatever you do avoid the Jagmaster I which i've read a ton of horror stories about.

Speaking of Tremolo arms, I lost the original one to my '66 Mustang, & now to make the Vibrato work I have to pull on the bottom bar. My guitar is never in tune because of this.

I wish I had a teardrop like that! My Vox is a double cutaway ES 335 shape, but it's still a real pretty guitar. Voxes aren't technically "nice," but they have cool features that a lot of other guitars don't have, and they have a great design sensibility. My Gibson ES 335 is way "nicer," but I love my Vox Cheetah. Those guitars go for too much money now. Still, they're better than Tiescos, which are going for ridiculous sums considering that they are SUPER CRAPPY guitars that happen to look really cool. Those should never have gone over $300.

I'm pretty sure those mini buckers will fit in a Jag. |

this is solid information about jagmasters, if you can find a vista get it, otherwise try it out and see what you think, i didnt like the feel of the newer jagmasters but im not sure if what ive played was an I or an II, im not a fan of squires generally but i am a fan of budget guitars, fenders are among the best high quality guitars available but ive never really though squires were among the best of cheaper guitars, so look around youre likely to find a better guitar for cheaper. i pretty much exclusively play stagg guitars which i often prefer to fenders and everything else, they are fucking cheap which was the main reason i started buying them, my jazzmaster was taking a good amount of damage from gigs so i bought a guitar (the m-350 or something like that i think) i could gig with instead to protect my jazzmaster, ill post some pics of my guitars in a bit, |
ok here is a pic of a stagg m350, this isnt mine but its 1.10 at night so ill take some pics tomorrow, apparently its costs $640 but look on ebay, you should be able to get one for around £80,
![]() heres a pic of my jazzmaster and maya bass, ill post the rest in the morning ![]() |
i love these threads!!!
i just recorded an insane guitar noise improv piece ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
