yeah... the kids were lost and asked someone (a butcher, haha) to spend the night there. he butchered them and put the pieces in a barrel of salt to preserve them. then saint nicholas came by, saw the meat, touched it and the kids were alive again. i think the butcher was murdered then...

My "heroes," or role models, are all people in my life, so putting them here would be pointless, since you don't know any of them.

But musically, it comes down to a battle royale between these two fellas:

People running the Cimade; it's a French association, dedicating itself to helping foreigners in France. They've got a lot to do to fight the government desire to kick out everyone who won't look French - the French minister for immigration AND national identity built up a congress about immigration in Vichy (where Pétain ran France when the nation lost to the Third Reich, licking Hitler's boots).
The Cimade started during WWII and provided help to the persecuted.

I'd add Denis Robert. He's a French journalist living in Metz, where Santa Claus comes and visits him every year. He wrote about money laundering and has had problems ever since - he's been sued over and over til he said he wouldn't talk about that anymore.
