Her first word was dada.

Alex's Trip 07.29.2007 01:59 AM

Maybe I haven't seen enough of all the old Simpson's episodes. I pretty much started watching all this stuff when Futurama started. I always found Futurama funnier.

atsonicpark 07.29.2007 02:03 AM

her first words the family heard then, smart pants.

ZEROpumpkins 07.29.2007 02:51 AM

atsonicpark:
Is that meant to be like the Shellac album At Action Park? If so, sly ;)

atsonicpark 07.29.2007 08:18 AM

epa.

Same.
The Simpsons movie had some funny parts but I kinda expected more.

Kallisti23chaos 07.29.2007 09:00 PM

my favorite scene at the end of the movie when Otto was sitting there with a bong and says, "What's going on ?"

Everyneurotic 07.29.2007 11:15 PM

i avoided everything i could before watching the movie, most longer trailers, reviews, etc. i expected it to be like a really long episode and well, it was so much stuff than that.

more than anything, i loved it because it made me laugh for one thing or another pretty much the whole time of the movie. it was a classic simpsons thing.

had it been longer/more complex with more stories/characters involved (which i think is my only criticism, except i'm glad they kept it simple), the movie might have gone a tad more pretentious and way less interesting; this way, i want to see it again.

as a simpsons fan, i have to say i really loved it.

i can;t wait until next year, though...futurama's next season/movies will be aired.

Uh.. and.. I'm PRETTY SURE (and this is rare, so brace yourself) that I'm in agreeance with almost everyone here when I say that Family Guy, etc. is NOT funny anymore. Family Guy, though, is a rare villian in that the new stuff is SO unfunny that it actually makes the OLD episodes seem unfunny as well... it's like, the new episodes expose the lameness that has secretly always been prevalent in all the Family Guy stuff. It's weird. Don't even get me fucking started on American Dad... god damn that shit's terrible.

Uh... Robot Chicken.. unfunny.. Actually, pretty much ANY Adult Swim Williams Street shows are unfunny now (old Aqua Teen, first season Sealab, Harvey Birdman, old Brak Show, were funny enough). The shows Adult Swim shows that aren't their shows are always hilarious... Shin Chan, Super Milk Chan.. that shit's GREAT!!!

Still, the funniest cartoon ever is the first season or so of Ren and Stimpy. Shit's golden. That or SAMURAI PIZZA CATS!!!!!!!

I dunno. I just find most "popular humor" unfunny. And I find most "underground humor" unfunny. I laugh more at really ridiculous shit, like in Pinnochio 964 when a camera superfastforwards as Pinnochio runs a million miles an hour and punches that bald dude in the chest and rips his heart out and the dude goes, "I CAN'T DIE.. I'M A FUCKNIG GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!" That shit's funny.

Or in Troll 2 when the guy goes, "They're eating her.. then they're going to eat me... OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDD DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!"

Or Rock N Roll Nightmare, when Thor goes, "I'll see you again... old scratch." after wrestling with a gigantic Satan puppet for 20 minutes as cock rock music plays.

Or Shredder Orpheus when the dude skateboards around, playing his super futuristic guitar.

Or Monsturd when the doctor goes, "NO! KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OF MY SHIT MAN!"

Or most episodes of MST3K.

Or Psycho Cop 2 when the psycho cop stabs the security guard in the eye and goes, "Hey Gus.. keep an eye out for me!"
...

Honestly, I probably find MORE shit funny and I probably have more of a sense of humor than most people. I just don't think Cartman going "FART FART [BLEEP] FART FART!" in his retard voice and then proceeding to beat every joke into the ground for hours.. I don't find that funny. Nor did I find

Family Guy funny anymore...
Epidose of Family Guy:
PETER: I'M FAT AND DUMB.
LOIS: PETEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR.. WANNA HAVE SEX?
PETER: HAHA YOUR NOSE LOOKS LIKE A PENIS.
STEWEY: INSOLENCE! INCEST! INCOGNITO WITH WOUNDS! REAL REMEDIES RARELY REALIZE RABID REALITIES! RAPE!
BRIAN: THAT'S NOT GOING TO LOOK GOOD ON YOUR JOB RESUME.
STEWEY: BLIMEY! I'LL.. MURDERYOUALL. DIE LOIS.
*flashback*
CELEBRITY GUEST: HEY I'M A GUY.
PETER: REMEMBER WHEN YOU SAY HEY I'M A GUY?
*flashback to another episode where he says hey i'm a guy*
*silence for 50 seconds as nothing happens*
PETER: POOP.

Oh man. That stuff's fucking hilarious!!!!!!!!! Seriously, Family Guy is terrible. It's a bunch of stoned dudes sitting around going, "So... if Skeletor popped into a room at a random moment... and yelled 'sHOW ME THE MONEY'... would that qualify as brilliant humor... or?..."

And in all seriousness, the Family Guy movie was an embarassment and was when the whole series started going down hill.

So, I hope the Simpsons movie isn't too bad... the show has been gradually getting less funny and less funny for NINE years... but I still chuckle once or twice every 3 or 4 episodes.. so who knows.

You're the biggest message board loser I've ever come across.

khchris(original) 07.30.2007 01:39 AM

i try to avoid trailers, reviews or synopsis of movies. most of all, i try to go into every movie with no high expectations, basically not knowing what the movie's going to be about.

in every case that i can remember, every single movie that i've anticipated and new the storyline before has always ended up not meeting expectations.

i think it will be good.

btw, doesn't the simpsons make fun of family guy for ripping them off?

I'm pretty sure that a Futurama movie is being released on DVD this November.

ZEROpumpkins 07.30.2007 04:32 AM

You are correct, sir.

they are doing like 3 or four movies and chop them into 3 or 4 episodes each, but yeah, good news the first one is coming in nov.

sorry but, ever since i saw like the first 4 or 5 episodes, i've prefered futurama over the simpsons, except for seasons 4 or 5 thru 8 or 9 of the simpsons, those are tied.

"Hi, my name is Jonathan, I don't appreciate humor or criticism, in fact I think the only reason I don't like atsonicpark's post on this board is because I have no idea what he's talking about and is, thus, WRONG. He insulted my all-time favorite show FAMILY GUY, and while his points are extremely valid and he made them all perfectly clear, I still declare him a 'message board loser' because I, myself, am a loser at life, and I want to feel better than someone on a virtual bulletin board, someone who obviously goes great lengths to prove his indisputable point that my taste in everything is fucking terrible. 14/m/LA/gay/lover of classic comedies like South Park season 11 (that's the one where Cartman shows his wing-wong AND says 'fart, duuuuuuuuude!'), Family Guy seasons 4, 5, and the film (I just love the part where Stewey stares at a wall for 27 minutes), and American Dad (all my friends say this show is the worst thing in the history of television, so I just reply in my best American Dad voice, 'Fran, go to hell.'). Looking for fellow lovers of shitty comedy; Will Ferrel please apply."

Crumb's Crunchy Delights 07.30.2007 06:29 PM

The Simpsons movie is pespicable, bespicable, fespicable, despicable.
