Nah, ten pounds each. So pretty much $20 each.

Iain! I'll send you money to buy me those! hehehe

gmku 07.16.2007 01:07 PM

Oh. Yeah, that's a little pricier. Did you say new or used?

Actually, anywhere from 15 to 20 USD is typical for new reissues, especially if it's the heavy vinyl, and sometimes even for clean, good used copies.

k-krack 07.16.2007 01:11 PM

I just bought two lp's for 45 bucks the other day (which is a lot of money... but whatever, I have it!)

gmku 07.16.2007 01:22 PM

LPs, especially sealed and unused copies, are not cheap. Worth it though. At the same time, they're not exorbitantly more than a new CD, and with some labels, as with Touch & Go reissues, they're actually the same as or less than a CD. In recent months I've picked up Slint and Jesus Lizard LPs, new, for under 10 bucks a piece.

I remember lots of labels being cheaper for vinyl... but I'm lookin', and I can't think of which ones are cheaper for vinyl than cds... damn!

So the new Daydream Nation deluxe LP is sitting in the window at the store. I just know if I walk in there, the manager's gonna try to sell it to me. Bastard. The thing is 35 bucks and filled with stuff I care not about. He needs to leave me alone and let me browse the racks.

They were used but looked hardly touched. The GBV one was in shrinkwrap still but split on the end so the records would slide out. I'd say they were priced about right-ish. I would like them to be cheaper though obviously. I might pick one or two of them up a)when I have more money and b)if they are still there.

Where did you buy those records? Can you buy them direct from the label? The music stores I live close to don't carry vinyl. I'd love to get some albums from Touch and Go, Shellac, Slint, Big Black etc. but can't find anywhere to buy them.

Rob Instigator 07.16.2007 04:03 PM

insound carries some vinyl.
