That is just one example of the perks you get working in a bookstore.

will that book teach me how to be like the fonz? cos that would be truly inspirational.

SynthethicalY 05.03.2007 10:18 PM

It's a really cute book, I must say. I didn't just get it for the humor factor, I sat down and read it through twice. It has lines like "Fonzie may have a soul of leather, but his heart is made of gold," or something like that. And it talks about how Henry doesn't like being called Fonzie.

Sure is. It would be cool if I were to win some prize at the student art show tomorrow, considering I'm not getting anything for my birthday. But I highly doubt that will happen.

SynthethicalY 05.03.2007 10:32 PM

Do you have a pay pal account maybe I can send you some money. I do get paid at midnight.

owww... if you had an anonymous p.o. box, i'd mail you a present. but seen how this is the internet, asking for addresses is a no-no. maybe i'll email you something downloadable? :D

lungfish 05.03.2007 10:40 PM

Michael Chabon's new book "The Yiddish Policemen's Union"
or his last book, "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay"

very inspiring.

!@#$%! 05.03.2007 10:42 PM

well im outta here-- i'll be back later to join or start your "happy birthday" thread-- and present or no present i hope you enjoy it.

luxinterior 05.03.2007 11:28 PM

Thanks for the offers of money/gifts but I am fine. Actually I'm working on getting rid of some stuff that I already own, so the no presents thing is working out for me this year. I think the only thing I might get is perhaps my mom will offer to pay for a month or two of my Netfix account, which would be a great thing.

Allen Ginsberg. Allen Ginsberg. Allen Ginsberg.

dazedcola 05.04.2007 04:40 PM

when i say inspiring i mean like it makes you want to think, be creative give you some interesting food for thought.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 05.04.2007 04:49 PM

ginsberg.

luxinterior 05.04.2007 05:25 PM

I hope I won't be shaking the foundation of this thread when I say "Ginsberg was so-so."

He was okay for a bit, I guess Howl has some good and impressive lines though none of it really speaks to me in any way, but now I'm just completely and utterly sick of him as well as most other Beat poets/writers.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 05.04.2007 05:41 PM

just for that i am now sending you a dead cat.
