but i like some telenovelas like "beautiful" when weed is end and i need to buzz.

I'm a sports freak so yeah I watch it everyday.

I see nothing special about TV really, the internet pwns it anyday.

i watch two or three shows and some i just rent on dvd. most stuff on right now is crap.

well DVD are okay for me too cause they are different things. but nobody says nothing about news programs .....I dont know exaclty how to call them in english

You have to sort through the dross, bu there are still rewal gems being made: The Mighty Boosh (funniest thing ever), Time Team (archaeology programme) and Horizon (documentary series) are my regular favourites, along with good natural history shows.

Apart from that I like news and old comedy shows.

Having said that, I agree that most of the stuff on TV is rotting, dead-at-birth, brain-polluting and repulsion-inducing excrement.

know what I always find funny, how there are always self-righteous people on the internet who say they don't watch TV and how bad it is and it makes you stupid, yet they spend like five hours or more on the internet. Thats just as bad and brain-draining as watching TV!!!!

generally the only news i watch is channel 4 news. i think i am developing a thing for female channel 4 newsreaders, plus jon smith is a god.

not everything is stupid on tv, but five hours on internet is better than one hour in front of nonsense program. sometime when i watch tv i don't pay attention and think about other things, tv could be off and could be the same, this never happens on internet.

But it's a better quality of brain-drain. :)

Well, the internet analogy isn't really that accurate. The internet is a tool in which you are only really limited by your imagination. I'm not saying it's the second coming of Jesus but it's at least democratic...at least compared to television. Television is one way communication, it's wholy undemocratic, it's made with pretty much the sole purpose to make money. I wouldn't say that everything on tv is stupid but it all pretty much conforms to the same rules...even stuff which seems 'high brow' can never really be anything of any worth because of the way tv works...it's a really shit medium.

Sorry, that really doesn't explain what I'm trying to say very well but TV is, by it's very nature, rubbish.

tv is mostly for morons. every now and then there are some gems. i voted "not watch at all" because the day/night options weren't really a good fit & this was closer.

i watch occasionally, mostly to get along w/ people who do watch (a strange form of socialization, i know, but very american: sit around & watch).

at home though we watch only movies-- we have no cable, no dish, no antenna, but a monster subscription to greencine. hah, i was re-watching john waters's "desperate living" yesterday, i don't want to return it...

Not all tv is brain-draining. Battlestar Galactica is actually really smart for Sci-Fi Channel fare. I thought I'd throw that out there.
