The first Ginger Snaps is incredible.

^Superbad is hilarious. I probably watch it every 6 months, and still I laugh a LOT. Michael Cera's awkwardness is incredible... "yours would be too... if you were a man," "they said that would happen in health class," etc.

i know, right? i luv that guy! sad that he will forever be typecast as that guy tho. hes the same in all of his movies. juno, nick & norah, etc.

Yeah. He's definitely got perfect timing, which is great for a young comedian.

Why? Because the 2-disc set was $3 at Biglots.

Is it as bad as I'd think a western made movie starring Tom Cruise as a samurai would be?

It's not a bad movie, really. Matter of fact, it's 1 of the only 2 Tom Cruise movies I will watch, the other being Jerry Macguire which is mostly for Cuba Gooding Jr. The Last Samauri is cool enough, I suppose. If you like or tolerate The Patriot with Mel Gibson, this will be fine.

Haha I just hate the old cheap/annoying 80's/90's cinematography that plagues most mel gibson movies.

The Patriot was the only movie I could think of that Last Samurai reminded me of and they're both about as historically accurate.

Haha I might check it out next time I've got a free rental at blokbuster.
So tonight, should I watch the original Scarfae (about Al Capone) or The Royal Tenenbaums.

kinda nice, kinda cliché/predictable, a more than decent flick overall.
Page abuses a bit of her trademark frowned "WTF?" expression.

the history part is intresting but the love story was lame

pretty cool, but i'll probably have to watch it again sometime to really appreciate it...

never got around watching it in its entirety before, beside the kinda cheesy photography (which is kind of a common thing for movies produced in that period, imo) it's pretty nice. One of the rare occasions I didn't end up hating Mr.Slater.

Liked it. My favorite scene was when the wee man jumped out of the coffin, the look on his face was classic.

Even if I'm not a big fan of that movie, that cover art sure is sexy...

The Departed

Usually if ppl rave about a film, I wait a long time to see it. But I kept thinking, there's no way it could be THAT good. But y'know... I loved it.

Man, I'm the same way. When someone hypes a movie to me (especially someone whos opinions I don't know, not exactly like, but understand fully) I tend to block that movie from my mind.
However I didn't do that with The Departed('cause I wanted to see nicholson try to portray whitey bulger) and I was surprised at how much I liked it.

You should watch Infernal Affairs then...
