THE STATE is such an awesome fucking show. I've been watching WHITEST KIDS U KNOW and it's kind of a modern-day "The State". Not as good, but decent.

I already pre-ordered THE STATE complete series thru Amazon. Out next month. To replace my horrible quality DVDR's and VHS. |
The State
Upright Citizens Brigade Vacant Lot i miss all the above. |

The State and Upright I loved. Vacant Lot I only caught a handful of times. Kids In The Hall was great in its prime. |
Yeah I have all the kids in the hall. BOBBY VS THE DEVIL is my favorite sketch of all time.
|
What I liked about those shows (especially some of the Kids in the Hall stuff) is how fucking SURREAL they were. I mean, they'd do these simple, obvious comedy sketches occasionally but they'd mix it up with some truely, truely bizarre, absurd comedic vignettes. One of the first episodes.. maybe it was the first episode?... of Kids in the Hall had that guy who "smashed" people's heads with his fingers... so fucking funny and.. just out there.
RUNNING FAGGOT RUNNING FREE RUNNING FREE!!!!!!!!!!!! Haha. I remember getting a myspleen.net account just to download hte state. The quality was awful. Whoever ripped that must have watched the vhs's a thousand times. Can't wait for the dvd set. Lincoln LOgs! |

my favorite Kids In The Hall is probably Dave Foley The Test-Tube Baby. Amazing.

^coincidentally, When I was little... my father was famous. He was the greatest samurai in the empire and he was the Shogun's decapitator. He cut off the heads of a hundred and thirty-one lords. It was a bad time for the empire. The Shogun just stayed inside his castle -- and he never came out.
People said his brain was infected by DEVILS. My father would come home -- he would forget about the killings. He wasn't scared of the Shogun, but the Shogun was scared of him. Maybe that was the problem. Then, one night... the Shogun sent his ninja spies to our house. They were supposed to kill my father... but they didn't. That was the night everything changed |
Was that the night when the Mc's came to live out the name and to perform, I heard some had to snort cocaine to act insane.
|
That was the night!
|
That was a great night my friend, a great night.

![]() 10,000/10. One of the best movies ever. |
![]() the bed you sleep in - 9/10 |
![]() -3/10 Easily one of the most poorly written movies I've ever seen. Not even Lordi can make up for the lameness. ![]() 5/10 not as cool as I hoped, but still kinda interesting. |
Mortality is the last great mystery to man. It’s the final clue as to why we are here, the last link in an ever-present trail of questions, philosophies, and personal lies. We never really consider it until someone we know grows ill, and as we age, we purposefully play at trying to pry away as much of the enigma as possible. We talk tough, staring the fear of nothingness square in its abyss-like vista. But in the secret shivers of the darkest night, we lie awake frozen, cold sweats indicating our actual level of terror.

![]() besides sporting the most misleading cover ever, it's a pile of crap. A couple decent actors for an awful flick (imo). BUT, Kate is kinda hotter than usual. |
^^^ I have to see this movie now. The trailer says "...and in the role of a lifetime, Gary Oldman"
|
![]() yeah, watch it. Oldman is actually in an interesting role (NOT the role of a lifetime...unless they meant he will never agree to shot a similar movie again), as you can see on the cover. I just found the trailer online and it's hilariously both misleading and revealing. p.s. I watched it coz it was on tv at like 4 am, huge thunder-ligthning-storm over here tonight, and a fucking long one (4am 5.30am with continuos BRRRAAAWWWBBBUMMMM--SKARRRKKKRASSSHH!!!, so, since sleeping turned out to be impossible with all that frickin' rumbling , instead of putting my head under a couple pillows with a 50% chance to suffocate I decided to turn on the tv and watch something with earphones, the first thing i saw was a shot of a tattoo over her asscrack, so I didn't change channel.Interesting story, eh? |
Cool, I'll check it out:

I went and wasted a bunch of money today so I bought a bunch of movies... Heart of Glass, Bullet In The Head, The Killer (had it on VHS and wanted the DVD), Carlito's Way, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Cape Fear...
I also bought Psycho and Vertigo the other day. I should really finish watching the movies I buy before buying MORE but eh... |

It was ok, but I expected a little more character development. Oh well. |
![]() katzelmacher - 7/10 the riflemen - 6/10 Love Godard but this felt a bit dated, something I can't say for the rest of his films that I've seen. |

About to go watch Branded to Kill. Then if I'm not tired, Tokyo Drifter.
I found both at a used games/movies store (not fucking gamestop) and picked em both up for a grand total of 15 |

![]() 8/10 You know for what it was it was quite good. It was more interesting than anything. But very intriguing nonetheless. |
I did watch the entire Cremaster Cycle last week but I've waited a few days to give my "Rating". I think I'd rate them all a 5.. maybe a low 6. Cremaster 2 was the best of the bunch. Cremaster 5 was a bit lesser, I might even give that a 4. All in all, there were some cool images, but it didn't really communicate much beyond that.
