chile 0 ecuador 0 at halftime
chile weaving some beautiful attacks but no goals (yet) ecuador well organized in their half of the pitch and waiting for a long ball-- bravo a bit the sweeper-keeper eta: Quote:
i already made that caveat! Quote:
im a little groggy because i just woke up for the game but if i recall it wasn't a mistake but a rebound from a blocked shot that suarez picked up. no? Quote:
i know-- too cool for high drama ha ha ha-- no pathos === chile 2 ecuador 0 in the end. fun fun game. == ps - i'm told ecuador has normally been playing better than this but is missing several starters |

Fair enough Quote:
Messi's inititial shot looked like one i'd expect Buffon to catch, but it's hard to judge and I've heard some pundits agree with you and say he wasn't at fault at all. Obviously one of those that splits opinion. Didn't see the game but I'd love Chile to go all the way. |
Tim Howard did some Michael Jordan shit against Belgium.. however i don't like the double standard.. Donovan takes a sabbatical and gets universally shitted on, Howard takes a year off nobody says shit.
|
is there anywhere that I can re-watch the Netherlands/USA match?
|
Quote:
your man enner valencia was playing for ecuador though. he needs your support! (ha ha). i was gone all day yesterday so missed argentina/paraguay which ended 2-2. but see: http://www.ca2015.com/en/match/live/1947889 today looking forward to colombia/venezuela + brazil/peru colombia still under pekerman a strong candidate to win it all; brazil trying out an almost all-new squad with dunga (oh no!) as coach-- true to form he only has 3 forwards on the squad (neymar/willian/robinho) Quote:
legit source, not anymore; but if you're interested in usa/germany foxsoccer2go.com has a 7-day archive and right now on page 2 they have the link to it-- for a few more days. requires subscription though :/ |
i couldnt' be back on time to see colombia/venezuela but fuck all predictions of grandiosity, venezuela beat pekerman's all-star lineup
http://www.goal.com/en/match/colombi...ive-commentary colombia's performance was "abject" they're saying brazil/peru next and this i'm not missing (internet-gods willing) |
England Slovakia was frustrating. No problems going forward, Wilshire was excellent and on another day Rooney could've easily got a hat-trick, but our defence is a nightmare. Cahill's about the only one who's nailed on and I'm still not 100% convinced even by him. The good results against pretty poor opponents are papering over some major cracks.
I'd blame Hodgson but I'd have probably played the same players in the same positions. I'll be surprised if he survives after the Euros, though. |
chile/mexico this evening
concacaf, get ready to be schooled by conmebol |
la mierda, mexico just scored!!
it's been a mad running around since the start. --- ha ha ah ha ha, now chile equalized. vidal header. golazo!!! - and now mexico 2 chile 1! this rhythm is so insane it's like a game from the 50s. open, attacking football on both sides. |
I cant watch it live. I'm having to rely on highlights for the whole tournament. So annoying.
|
if other people's pain is any consolation to you--i just lost my stream :/
cricfree.sx -- back on. 2-2 at 46'! missed the 2nd chilean goal. -- 2nd half starts ON FIRE. |
What's the lowdown on the tournament so far? Who's looking good? Who's not? Any new players really standing out? Any big names having a nightmare? Kind of interested in Colombia's Carlas Bacca, who seems to be on the radar of a lot of big Prem teams right now.
|
hold on chile penalty-- vidal! chile 3 mex 2. insane game.
=== i missed most weekend games due to work. big upset was venezuela beating colombia's all-stars 1-0-- if by that you mean "big names having a nightmare". and paraguay coming from 2 goals behind to tie w/ argentina 2-2. paraguayans always have the biggest balls, warriors thru and thru. then the usual-- neymar the new jesus, etc. but i only started watching again yesterday, brazil-peru 1-1 until at the last minute a forward run by neymar followed by a beautiful cross to costa (the other d. costa, ha ha) gave brazil the chance to pull ahead. chile/mex quieting down at last. it's been 1 hour of game, about time they slowed down (a bit). mexico losing their punch. you checked out cricfree yet? -- holy shit 3-3- crazy goal!! long ball to vuoso, bravo off his goal. damn! valdivia had scored before that but the linesman fucked him-- unfair. well here we go - ay, valdivia la cagó!!! -- *another* goal annulled on offside? holy fuck. peruvian refs-- they've never gotten over the war of the pacific ha ha. - 3-3- final. jiménez, vuoso, and a lineman the best mexican players. alexis, vidal, and valdivia the best for chile, i think. |

We're really gonna struggle to keep him this summer. Chelsea and Sampdoria want him. We want £30m and it looks like Chelsea at least are willing to pay it or take him as part of some kind of swap deal for Loic Remy. Already signed Oblang from Sampdoria and Nene (me neither) from Al-Gharafa. Other players we're apparently targeting: Remy (Chelsea) Cabaye (PSG) Austin (QPR) Deulofeu (Barca) Cambiasso (Leicester) Song (Barca) Jenkinson (Arsenal) Payet (Marseille) Also a terrifying rumour going around that we're apparently looking at .... wait for it .... Mario .... Balotelli  |
don't know how much they'll want valencia after bolivia beat ecuador 3-2! (i didn't watch it but it's big news because bolivia is the absolute runt)
balotelli ha ha ha. that guy! people still want him? later today--- argentina/uruguay! that should be interesting (and tomorrow neymar again faces colombia mhuahahahahahaha-- better not turn his back!) |
I'm surprised there's that much interest in Valencia too. Maybe there's something about him I just didn't see. But then Chelsea have just taken Falcao on loan so they may have lost interest in him anyway.
And Chelsea getting Falcao. Maybe they're missing the frustration that Torres brought them. Maybe they just don't feel right without a big name lame duck to worry about. Shame Mourinho already has experience of Balotelli cos maybe then they could've done the rest of us a favour and chosen him instead to be their new superstar burdeon. |
0-0 at halftime.
argentina pressures, uruguay absorbs, most of the game happening in their half. a bit boring. suarez sidelined means little uruguayan danger upfront. a bunch of corners from the argies but nothing. might very well end 0-0 if it continues that way. i snoozed a little (but i didn't sleep that night) it's on "PREMIER SPORTS" -== finally! agüero scores a GOLAZO! ... and uruguay fails to tie in their first good chance in a loooong time ... the end was more exciting, too much to comment-- uruguay waited until the last 15 minutes of regulation to start attacking in earnest. lots of missed chances. 1-0 it is. uruguay 3rd in the group behind paraguay who beat jamaica 1-0 |
the eagerly-awaited BRAZIL-COLOMBIA starts in 20'
i'll spare the commentary, just wanted to post a reminder |
No, don't spare it. I missed it. what happened?
|
what happened TO ME is that all the streams are broken.
but from what i've caught (still going on, started later than yesterday), colombia 1 brazil 0, neymar carded for next game-- it's being liveblogged on the guardian site http://www.theguardian.com/football/...-colombia-live thsi is better commented http://www.goal.com/en-us/match/braz...947915?ICID=FX --- AND COLOMBIA WINS ITS REVENGE! 1-0. |
Thanks!
Glad Columbia won. Are we to now assume that, Neymar being out, Brazil will once again descend into a headless chicken on Sunday? Although reading those reports, didn't look like they were much beater even with their head in place. Good article about Brazil's current failings http://www.theguardian.com/football/...a-copa-america |
Quote:
that was a damning article! and very accurate. neymar out but so is an important venezuelan defender, who was red-carded last night. peru beat them 1-0 so now venezuela doesn't have won't have the luxury of a secured qualification-- they will play with everything. this is turning out to be the "group of death" for sure. |
Neymar now banned for 4 games
|
haaaa haaaa haaa haaaaa
i was just coming in to post that -- also, ecuador just beat méxico 2-1 (i couldn't see it) chile 1 bolivia 0 in progress trying to get a stream but it's gonna be tough titties as i'm in ultraslowband == chile 4 bolivia 0! that's what happens when bolivia doesn't play in la paz. almost over... maybe 5-0 before time is up lol. oh yeah it was 5-0 bananas a pity i couldn't see it live. though bolivia is really no opponent. |
in spite of this, bolivia qualified 2nd in the group because how mexico and ecuador sucked elsewhere
TODAY: THE GUAY GUAR: URUGUAY + PARAGUAY - should be an interesting one. starts in about 75 minutes in think ARGENTINA + JAMAICA - if argentina has any sense they should be playing the full bench to protect their stars for the knockout round == tomorrow a wounded BRAZIL plays VENEZUELA. call it schadenfreude, but i'm hoping venezuela humiliates brazil. nothing against brazil per se, but man, their teams of late... what the fuck later COLOMBIA + PERU. on paper, colombia should give peru a spanking. but colombia has been underperforming so we'll see-- they still shoudl win though. |
my internet died at 19' of the 2nd half of uru 1 - para 1
GACK |
well still 1-1 and nothing.
|
if i was a jamaican player, i'd treasure today as one of the greatest in my life
the chance to face messi, di maria, higuaín, mascherano... holy fuck and i'd still tell the story 50 years hence -- 1-0 the score, argentina completely dominates, but one never knows. right? --- "...and then messi swung around inside the area, and i blocked his shot..." ![]() "...and then i slammed pastore and got a yellow card..." "...and then di maria shot this cannonball of a corner and i caught it mid-air..." "...and then di maria beat everyone running on a counterattack and then shot straight to the goal and i was the last man and i saved it..." "...and then di maria shot right under the crosspost from the edge of the area for a sure goal but i jumped like a jaguar and punched it out..." "...and then i was running up in a very fast counter but pastore shoved and kick me, and they reorganized for the free kick, and this is why we didn't tie..." |
Yeah, I love those sort of mismatches, where the opposition is probably psyched just to be there, while at the same time knowing anything could happen.
Imagine playing against Uruguay and showing your grandkids the bite mark to prove it. |
I have had the misfortune of watching the last two England U-21's games. Been rare where I've seen games as dire as them. Just awful.
|
Quote:
ha ha ha ha! yeah... at the end everyone was trying to take selfies w/ messi Quote:
my condolences. |
Quote:
I've been listening to them on the radio. They have sounded awful, although Stuart Pearce's commentaries haven't helped. If he says "at this moment in time" one more time ... And if this is all about grooming Southgate for the main job, then God help us. Much rather it was Gary Neville, even with his massive Man U bias. |
Quote:
he probably just meant to say "at this time in time" -- ps finally tuned to per 0 col 0 @ 64' peru needs a win for sure, colombia i'm not sure-- jackson martinez in for greasehead falcao -- wait wait wait i got it ALL WRONG 0-0 puts peru 1st place in the group, colombia 2n, brazil 3rd, venezuela 4th-- with one game missing peru goes for sure, either 1st or 2nd--- the others depend on the brazil-venezuela result. which is bananas. |
Quote:
This. The way I look at it is can you actually imagine Southgate bollocking you and you taking it seriously? No. No, you really can't. He doesn't have a look of a manager you'd take seriously. |
Quote:
Hopefully gonna get to watch that in a bit. I actually decided to re-watch the Brazil-Germany game from the last world cup last might whilst hammered with a friend of mine. At first it seems like Brazil would be ok and keep it together. Then goals start, and even on re-watch it's still crazy to see the score of 5-0 before half-time. A game to always remember. The best bit is the kid crying his tears into a cup. Ooh I've found it. ![]() Yes... yesss, let your tears flow. |
ha ha ha ha ha ha
shit i think the game started but i just woke up == ps- for the ingleses, it's on something called "premier live" == SO: brazil won 2-1 because venezuela only made it interesting in the end group c goes: brazil first w/ 6pt peru 2nd, 4pt beating colombia just by goals in favor colombia 3rd 4pt makes it through as one of the best 3rd places (odd rule to make up for having only 12 teams) venezuela out w/ 3pt |

Yeah, but I'm on metred internet at the moment and trying make my remaining 2gb last another 7 days. Absolute murder! |

holy shit! you too? where are you, in the boonies? i thought you were civilized. anyway, welcome to my life. low quality streams will only eat 200-300mb per game. yes they look splotchy but it's like watching an old crt tv in a bar while drunk. web browsing does not eat a lot if you disable images + turn off video autoplay... but a lot of sites are non-functional these days without images. youtube at 144p ONLY. adblock is also your friend. i use safari adblock-- for you, depending on browser. the biggest eater of data for me have been cloud services-- the iphone that auto-uploads every picture it takes, the spotify that makes offline files available, etc. also, auto-updates, which can eat up to 5GB in one sitting (e.g., a new OSX or iOS is revealed, and blam), all that has to be monitored, turned off, and scheduled manually for optimal use of bandwidth. ha ha ha ha. i am so familiar w/ this shit, my data use is ultralean. anyway, don't worry, elon musk is coming to the rescue with a swarm of cheap satellites... ... some years from now. :( no games today or tomorrow i believe! restarting wednesday if i'm not wrong. so there's a break. |
Yeah, very much in the boonies (although obviously not as remote as you).
I've managed to minimise unnecessary net usage by disabling all the things you mentioned but it's such a pain, going from unlimited usage, that I had in London, to suddenly having to watch my every move. |
yeah i went bananas when i first moved here. had a really crummy 500mb/day and you couldn't bank it for a big download--- it was use it or lose it.
now i have a "business-class" satellite that still feels like it's 1997. i get 25gb/mo. what's your monthly quota? |
