I went to see my two-year-old niece in her nursery Nativity play this morning. Hannah had been cast as a 'star in the sky' and I have to say that she gave a bravura performance, overcoming that amateur nature of the production with a fine display of both dancing and singing. I expect favourable reviews.

Christmas is missing something without a nativity play, isn't it? Our local church puts one on, so hopefully we'll be going to that. Last time, the baby Jesus was wearing a Winnie The Pooh suit, which added something rather special to the biblical version.

The traditional side of the festive season is something to be enjoyed, that's for sure. Nativity plays, carol singers, brass bands - it's all very nice.
