The Godfather. It was great.
|
Talented lead actor; Tilda Swinton is really an underrated beauty; the scenes between Lou Pucci and Kelli Garner were just perfect.

About Schmidt....not bad....
|
i just finished watching not 1/2 hour ago...
![]() brilliant. inspiring. i shouldn't be posting on the internet after watching that. |
!@#$%!, recommend me something good and recent please.
|
the last teenage mutant ninja turtles.
aside from the animation looking like a playstation game, not bad at all, i dug they picked the story up and that the personalities of each of the characters were left untouch, plus it was quite a good story. |

you've seen little children yet? or in the bedroom for that matter? (todd field's previous movie) let me think a little bit more... -- almodovar's volver gonzalez in~arritu's babel (not GREAT, but good.) & alfonso cuarOn's children of men (same) del toro-- any del toro-- seen the devil's backbone yet? (i figure you saw pan's labyrinth) ^^ brilliant movie notes on a scandal for the acting -- little miss sunshine was alright, a bit creepy, but pretty good. shortbus on the other hand was overhyped. i mean it's good to have a movie about fucking, but i prefer the mediterranean or latin american take on this activity. ended up being a movie about therapy for new york hipsters, or something of that sort. not totally bad, but a disappointment. how recent are you asking? last year? |
Emily Blunt needs her own movie.
Rating: *** out of **** ![]() |

jeezus johnson, i saw that movie, it was trite crap and the characters were lame. |

I can't say that I envy you for not enjoying it. I could gloat, but what good would that do? |
![]() wow, i thought it was gonna suck but no! beautiful movie, a bit short, sure, it was his student film, but tarkovsky is a film god. |
Quote:
ha! i missed your post, sorry. i'vent seen anything you posted except little miss sunshine and volver. i will check todd field mobiez.. anyway i ended up seeing this, nothing recent... ![]() |

oh. what's that? im curious -- w/ todd field start w/ "in the bedroom"; really good. little children i loved even more because of kate winslett & the supersexy jennifer connelly but i like to track directors chronologically, a small obsession of mine. |
"A big hand for the little lady".
NOT a porn http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060165/ |

oh. that looks interesting... |

ah nice. extra points for little children, then. antonio das mortes (o dragão da maldade contra o santo guerreiro) its like the 2nd part of deus e odiabo na terra do sol. its a brazilian drama from the 60's, i suppose you've heard of glauber rocha and the cinema novo thing. |
Quote:
yeah ive heard of him but for some reason i've never seen many brazilian movies, not even pixote or don~a flor... they are hard to find in the u.s. i suppose. but thanks to your mention i'm going to hunt them down now, wherever they're hiding. |
havent you converted yourself to piracy yet? bad distribuion is a good excuse.

Return to the 36th Chamber of Shaolin
starring Gordon Liu ![]() |
I couldn't find anyone to hang out with last night, so I stayed in and watched Lost in Translation. It's still great.
|
Havana
Ripley's Game Both much, much better than the star-ratings given on those links would have you think. |
Harry mother fucking Potter!
|
last night i watched:
V for Vendetta : not as "deep" and meaningful as the comic novel, but pretty good. And I like to know the face behind the mask ha ha. Pan's Labyrinth : GREAT, really great. M.A.S.H. : always amazing. |
been watching a lot of stuff from the 1900'-- shorts of course, so i can't do a list.
hard to find pics too. |
it's SMITH from the matrix
V was a very good movie. it is one of the few comic adaptations that captured the spirit as well as the details essential to the story. |

Hugo Weaving, yes.

Pan's Labyrinth last night and yes, great indeed.

All I want to say right now is that Divine is kind of awesome to me simply because she Believes she is. Another thing is that it doesn't feel like an exploitation movie. The scene inside of the hospital room where Divine reveals her acid-scarred face to her friends and is still considered beautiful - if not more beautiful than before - is surprisingly compelling. Either Divine's a damn good actor, or just an incredible personality. It almost makes the conventionally beautiful lame.

Star Wars: A New Hope
because a friend of ours hadn't seen it ever before. we're watching The Empire Strikes Back tomorrow. |

its the new movie about ian curtis. really really fucking good. its very well done, and they really made it into a fine, arty mvie. and not some cheesy tv speacial biopic. i highly recomend this. just make sure that you are ready to get depressed for a few hours after watching it. |
Storytelling, kind of a let down except for the first "episode" :o, the movie is pretty bad imo.
|
![]() started with "torment" wow! what a movie!! |
