I'm starting with Gothic III these days.
Doesn't seem as good as I nor II to me though. Maybe it will grow on me eventually though. |

i had this game back in the day when it came out. what a great rpg, i seriously regret selling my gba. dont think i ever played the sequel. it was golden sun and advance wars. those were great games. |
Quote:
YES. those two are some of my all time favorite GB-games. and when you beat the first Golden Sun, you'll get a password to transfer certain data (character levels, djinni, items etc) to the sequel, it's neat, but kinda sucks ass, as the password is like 260 characters long and is one annoying fucker to enter. unless you have two GBAs and a link cable. |
what game should i play?
|
^^^ we could always try Civ III again. maybe play-by-mail would be easier without 3 people.
|
![]() yes ladies and gentlemen i am playing it WITH MY BONER. |

I'd beat yo ass in Civ III ;) |
I don't know...after my Aztecs discover The Velvet Underground, nukes are just around the corner.
|
i though it was you who fucked up the game, was it mamapilas?
let's ditch him and play with nicfit instead. pbem was obviously absolut boring crap, what the fuck were we thinking about? |

I'm not sure how it got fucked up. the "password" business didn't help. do Civ III save files really need to be fucking encrypted?? srs bznz, I guess. I'm down for whatever. the only problem with playing Civ III "live" is the massive time-difference and the fact that a game can last 3 days, but I'm willing to try! |
isn't there a fucking web mmo version of civilization?
|
I'm not sure what you mean. I don't think so...at least not in the typical sense of a mmo being a static-world.
I think that there's game-servers to play on though, if that's what yr asking. direct ip too. |
something like this:
http://s1.civ-online.com/ what are the decent web mmo these days? the last one i played was omerta, years ago... |
that's the golden question.
really, there isn't anything out that's not either totally shitty (Conan and Warhammer) or played out (WoW). the next thing in line is the new Star Wars (if/when that ever comes out). never played that civ online...didn't even know it existed. doesn't look as good as Civ III though. :p |
there is something, we just need to filter out all the crap.
|
well, I'm open to suggestions. I spend all my game-time playing a RTS game now...it's just not the same. I've been fighting back the fever to play WoW again too. the memory of it is always a lot better than the reality though.
I keep hoping that Diablo 3 releases soon. |
the question is - can't we play Diablo II online together?
|
yep. sure can. it's free too. I'd have to insist that everyone has the expansion though....it makes it soooo much better.
|
oh, the Lord of Destruction pack? i don't have that :(
|
aww! :(
get it! I'm sure it's like $5 (or a likewise value in whatever beads and trinkets you trade with in _slavo_landia). adds two classes and sockets! sockets, man! sockets! |

frozen period blood cut into little cubes, actually. |
Civ III wasn't as fun as Civ II and they were only ever fun on easy mode anyways. Speaking strictly for myself.
|

which is funny because the II was the only one that did nothing for me. I was a cult, III was full of great improvements (plus 3D) and IV is pure heaven. |
oooh....I've been saying Civ III, maybe I mean IV. I guess I'll have to check the box. think it might be IV that I have.
|
I thought II was great because you could build military dictatorships to crush your enemies. In III I didn't find it was as easy to build a military and conquer. And that sucked a lot of the fun out of it for me.
|
Quote:
that's cause you're a warmonger ;). the thing I love about IV is that there's such a big variety of ways how you can drive your fate, where military power supremacy is only one of the lot. unlike the previous Civ's, here it doesn't even matter how many cities your civilization has. which is cool. |
That's true, I do like the warmongering aspect of it. I mean, succeeding on artistic merit is fine and all, but I like building the cities all over, spreading all over the landscape.
The other way is fine every now and again, but doesn't get my juices flowing. |
I enjoyed converting hostile lands to Taoism, and then bombing them back to the stone age.
jenny said when she was just five years old there was nothin' happenin' at all every time she puts on a radio there was nothin' goin' down at all not at all.... KA-PLOOOOW!! |
haha ... the only thing getting on my nerves in IV is that all religions are equal.
Let's discuss. |
Just out of curiosity, what nationalities are there in Civ IV?

Working on Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, after I recently reacquired an n64 and remembered i'd never beaten that one
|
I've never played Majora's Mask, but I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I've always heard how dark and different it is than others. I need to get it.
|

it's pretty awesome. presently: ![]() |
![]() haven't played this since it was released! |

It might be my favorite Zelda. There's just something about the characters in that one... Don't play much anymore but I've been having fun with this one recently: ![]() |
^ that game is just outrageous
|
I remember I had Majora's mask. but I got annoyed with the time traveling thing and quit. plus the fucking water temple is just whey too hard. fuck it.
