While I'm not actually glad to hear such bullshit, (and I'm not surprised in the least) at least it is somewhat comforting to know that you don't exclusively hear that kind of shit in the United States...
We have both a black president and black athlete as most successful in American sports (indeed as a brand possibly biggest in the world) and yet between Barry Obama and Lebron James I'm not sure who receives the most irrational hatred (well its only irrational until somebody like me has the balls to rightfully pull the race card on muthafuckers) |
Well that's surely gotta be a record for 2 goals after each other.
|
Well Swiss that was that!
|
This is the THIRD match I've seen with back to back goals by one team in under 3 minutes apart.. Amazing World Cup scoring wise, defenses aren't giving it up for the majority of the 90 odd minutes, BUT teams are forcing open windows and taking advantage big time
|
![]() The ref is clearly French ;) |
Haha it was a stone cold pen though. And Cabaye's miss was just brilliant.
|
Haha.. that third goal looked something like this ;)

benzema on a roll! how many goals today? 2 vs. honduras. and 1/2 hour still to go. golden boot?
this is the kind of scoring power i was expecting from brazil or argentina in this round, given their "easy" groups, but they haven't delivered. and the french, without ribéry, are skewering the poor swiss. fuck. france just scored again while i was writing this! i want to laugh but i feel a little sad for shaqiri. |
I agree, I was shit talking France's usually gloating level of swag this year but clearly they got something going for them.. They along with Netherlands have been making scoring look easy, and yet when you look at the goals allowed portion of the fixtures for all the groups clearly this has been a good defensive year for World Cup teams, so with that context the way France and Netherlands are scoring at will is saying something..
Honorable mention to Croatia, Colombia, Chile, and Costa Rica (yes the alliteration was intentional) for also being the scoring leaders, particularly considering they've played against some pretty top shelf defenses so far.. |
There will always be this..

Swag? They only just crept in via the playoffs. Even before Ribery's injury they were hardly bigging themselves up. If anything them, Holland, England and Italy spent most of the pre-tournament buildup trying to down-play their chances. False modesty maybe (although not in the case of England) but modest nonetheless. |

I'm tempted to go down and watch the Ecuador Honduras game with her, just to see how long it takes before the references to National Geographic start. |
Yep, these results come in as a good surprise, considering how the French made it to the World Cup. That is, the first leg of the play-off. They didn't top their group, Spain did. And Spain hadn't crumbled yet.
The timing is perfect. Ribéry's injury was one thing some of us frogs took coolly. It meant the less experienced players would have to go for it instead of trusting someone else (the way England played during one WC when they had Linneker). This being said, Benzema's a terrific surprise. Yes. That lack of selfishness. Wow. 5 different scorers. That's something I really like. It shows damage may come from everywhere. I'm happy! |

I meant from their fans, not their on-pitch performances. Its precisely why I was shit-talking on them, because clearly their team was in basically suck mode and yet their fans while being cautious were still in essence, being French ;) In fact, just before this very match I was thinking, "Why the fuck are the French fans being so cocky and confident? Where is all this swag coming from?" I mean, I get it, they're France, and in France they really ain't got anything but their World Cup bravado built recently mostly out of nostalgia, but if they can keep this up? They may just upset a favorite in the knockout stages.. Granted, they beat up on a Swiss team that didn't react well to poor officiating and in that sense, psyched themselves out, BUT France is definitely scoring goals. |

Hahaha.. maybe after the match y'all can watch a Wayans brothers movie too? |

you should ask her what she thinks of balotelli and take copious notes i'm skipping the honduras ecuador match because i need a break from too much futbol. and it should be kind of crap anyway. ecuador should have some energy though. Quote:
this is exactly what italy lacked today and congrats! |
While the Honduras Ecuador match will definitely be a shit game, it also may just be filled with enough cheap shots, dirty plays, and laughable "almost but not" highlight reels so as to be worth it...
![]() I'm not going to commit, but a friend hit me up to kick it ostensibly to watch this match so at the least, it will be on as background noise while we otherwise spend out afternoon smoking pot and recapping better matches, teams, and plays ;) |

Interesting to see how she reacts if Suarez has a little racist nibble at him. |
Ecuador Honduras is like a pinball game so far, although Ecuador seem way on top
|
Honduras is so dirty that after that goal was rightfully ruled offsides in injury time they even rushed to ref trying to intimidate him! Hahaha... poor sports yo!

Ecuador Vs Honduras was fun to watch, very physical match. Made up for the dud late match last night.
Looking forward to watching Argentina tomorrow, think they will really turn it on tomorrow. Despite the performance against Bosnia who are a very good side. |

Surprisingly I felt the exact same way, I was actually really looking forward to that France-Swiss game until.... Meanwhile I thought the Ecuador-Honduras game would be total shit, but it was pretty good. Maybe its because the ref was very strict with the whistle to check Honduras to a more limited amount of dirty plays than usual. |

i really really hope so. so far i have been very disappointed with the usual big hopefuls from south america. on the other hand, feeling good about chile and colombia, but i wonder if the have the weight to beat the big european sides consistently on the way to the top. so-- fingers crossed for the argentinians. re: bosnia--yes! i was thinking about how if they ever reunified with all the splinters of yugoslavia (fat chance after all that blood, but one can dream) they could have an *amazing* squad. |
![]() Marcello you fucking moron. |
^^ha ha ha
---- higuaín, agüero, di maria, do not fail me! higuain for captain today. fuckit! |
Choosing Demichelis for my squad was probably the stupidest idea of the lot. And there's a lot of stupid ideas in that squad. Dammit.
|
But how much of a drubbing are Iran gonna get today? Is it gonna be 5-2 levels like yesterday? Or an energy preserving 1-0?
|
what the fuck is wrong with the big teams in this world cup. looks like iran wants to win, attacking more dangerously than argentina, while argentina faffs around and was spared a penalty by the blind ref. shame on these fuckers---useless superstars. sabella looks incompetent.
im gonna start cheering for iran out of sheer spite. |
never in doubt ( ;) )
|
now messi celebrates like some great fucking achievement to score 1 goal vs. iran. fuck argentina, great players but horrible team. don't deserve to win
|
Man, Iran played great and should've held off for a 0-0. However Messi's goal really was just brilliant. Gutted for Iran.
|
And did Higuain do anything through the game? Barely seemed there for me.
|
messi & romero & the ref. vs. iran.
fucking shitbirds |
Never mind Hiquain, I forgot to swap out the Hondurus keeper for Argentina's.
|
that's what i get for putting my faith in these fuckers.
my first captain was ramos. 8x2 = 16 then buffon was back. i decided to go with him. 7x2 = 14 then put higuain hoping the hijoputa would score some. 4x2 =8 what other overrated fuckup should i put next as captain? hazard? lukaku? my 3 forwards add up to 12 points. |
