With the 116th Congress being hailed as the most diverse and most female one yet, the rise of the empowered woman has left few sectors of business and government untouched and now extends to the US’ cosy-cosy club of arms manufacturers and their government procurers.
Politico celebrated this “watershed” moment on Wednesday, announcing that as of January 1, the CEOs of four of the nation’s top five defense contractors – Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Boeing’s defense wing – are now women. The latest appointment was of Kathy Warden as CEO and president of Northrop Grumman. |

Man, climbing was amazing tonight. I was ON IT! Night like tonight is when it's all worth. No negativity was swirling around my head, my energy was high and it was just all round brilliant.
Sorry just had to vent |
what did you climb? We can't climb anywhere, my entire country is flat as a dime.
anyway, there's a chance I might get to work in Paris as a resident engineer, and live there too. And it's the work that I like and am good at. |
My dog has irritated paws after picking him up from boarding on Saturday. I washed his paws and he still is being weird. Probably gonna have to take him to the vet. When I called the facility, the fucking dood in the phone was so blasé about it. I was pissed. I called today to dance a reservation I had for him in February and it was that which prompted a call back from the owner. She tried telling me that it was probably exhaustion....I know when the dog is tired and when something is wrong. I had a job at a boarding/daycare for dogs and shit like this never happened. Good thing is that he’s still drinking and eating. Not eating much, but he was always a grazer and never really ate in a full sitting. Which is a bit surprising since he’s gained 10 lbs since moving to Washington.

Just remembered the time I had a crush on a straight girl and then immediately after a gay dude

maybe this will help: 7 Soothing Foot Bath Recipes for Your Dog's Itchy Paws or Why Are My Dog's Paws Itchy? or my own special recipe: force it to listen to this song before every meal for a month or two. It probably will not work at all, but it might turn into the coolest headbanging Primus loving puppy |

I live in the north of England so there's the lake District near by and some decent places in Lancashire specifically. However, atm I tend to focus more on indoor climbing especially given the winter weather. I'm also really lucky that there are a couple of decent indoor places both with 20 minutes of me. Come spring I'll definitely aiming to be outside more often. I actually met a bird in New Orleans and we got on amazingly. To the point where we both mooted the idea of me staying in New Orleans and me trying to get some work. On a whim I decided to look up climbing in New Orleans and there's just nothing around. Of all the incredible climbing to be done in America and she had to live in New Orleans! I'll admit that played some part in me coming home :D |

Throwing a party tomorrow and the preparation is already getting to my head. Had to inch a shopping cart filled with 72 cans of beer and a sixpack of Coke across the street to the location I'm hosting the event at. Fucking thing wouldn't move. Possibly a safeguard so people don't take them home. But I was alone and lacking a proper alternative. So a bit of pushing, shoving and some 'ol violence did the trick. Must have looked funny from a distance. But I exhausted my repertoire of "Fucking hell"s today.

Waffle House is not a hospital or withdrawl center.
"He went to the Waffle House that night to sober up. He went to go and get his head together, get his mind straight,” his fianceé said. “He passed out during that time and they took advantage of him.” The mistake was circulating the video. I laughed out loud when I saw it. The employees are there to serve food and make tips, not service NONPAYING drunks. |

a friend referred to his girlfriend as "a member of the household" today. i lol'd. <3

Went swimming yesterday (more fun than I'd anticipated). Some little kid said hi to me as he swam past.
It got me thinking about how little kids will just meet in a McDonald's playground of something, run around being good friends for 15 minutes, and then never see each other again. Not sure why I'm so focused on that. |
One depressed person trying to console another depressed person is kind of like the sound of one hand clapping. It's not much but with some effort, you might just hear something.

![]() Went to the Australian Open today. Spent my time watching Bianca Andreescu play Anastasija Sevastova. Andreescu's probably my new favourite player, partly because of the emotion she displays while playing - she wore her heart on her sleeve during the match, hit two rackets on the ground and screamed 'GOD!' at least once. Also the fact she's young and hot and Canadian helps :p |

is she? That's not how I imagine a hot tennis player. |

Seriously, this is super cool!!! I don’t recall anyone from SYG ever talking about attending the Australian Open.......if they had (AO, Wimbledon, French Open, etc)......it was probably complaints about all the extra people in town and bloody long lines for the train.
Was this your first time attending or something you do every year? Is it expensive? Quote:

How many members are there on here from Australia? Alien anal is the only other one I can think of. Not exactly surprising you've not heard anyone else talk about it.

I think the fact that modern society is trying to progress beyond "boyfriend/girlfriend" has led to some silly language. Even "partner" seems idiotic, as if the couple owned a business or were cops. Quote:
Bluntly: is this yours? A quote? Your phrasing of something you heard before? I'm going to steal it, but I want to credit it properly. Quote:

Blogger is owned by Google, (for at least a few years now)
It is what I use for my book reviews, and it is fairly easy to use. |
I used to watch tennis back in the day. I was in love with Stefi Graf, Martina Hingis
