seen it. |
Deaths in Italy have hit 1000. Given the steepness of the curve for UK deaths next to Italy's it looks like we'll hit that number sooner unless drastic action is taken. As it is morons are still boasting about going t'pub and restaurants and not worrying about anything. It's gonna be interesting/depressing to see where we are this time next week.

Coronavirus: Italy's hardest-hit city wants you to see how COVID-19 is affecting its hospitals (w/video)
“They rush past wards already rammed with beds all filled with people in terrible distress - gasping for air, clutching at their chests and at tubes pumping oxygen into their oxygen-starved lungs.“ |

Italy is at over 4000 covid-19 related deaths (people who died who are also positive to covid-19, not necessarily 100% caused by the virus itself, but as we all know it doesn't help for sure..) 627 reported deaths just for yesterday. Now people can go outside (alone) to exercise - take walks - walk their dogs only in a 200 meters range from their home. Cars with loudspeakers mounted going around the streets in my city (and I suppose in many other cities all over the country) telling people to stay inside. There will be a consistent rise in checkpoints on many roads (with military personnell too) to check if people are going around with a "legit" reason. A couple days ago in one of the most affected cities a column of military trucks filled with coffins transported bodies to be cremated elsewhere because there they can't keep up with the deaths. https://twitter.com/AlexZan87/status...39885133537280 Many families saw their relatives for the last time when they got transported to the hospitals and won't even be able to have a proper funeral. I'm not panicking, but as you can see the situation here is pretty serious, and I think the quarantine will last waaaaay longer than most people expect. News I heard / read on how the situation is dealt with / perceived by the population in many other countries don't make me feel that optimistic for the (future) situation overall in the world. |
I posted this early in this thread, perhaps when not
many people cared that much, but let me repost it here: https://www.rivm.nl/en/novel-coronav...ovid-19/spread take note of some of those "numbers" and check back in a few days... |
Looks like some of you people think that everybody is "over reacting"... well, in the beginning I thought this disease, or whatever it is, only affected to insane/sick old men, for example recently here in Spain two healthy boys, in their twentys, have died, I mean... yes, commonly this is not lethal but we don't know exactly how it "works" this virus yet and many bodies don't over react to it, they just die, at least it can be described as worrying not just the flu of our grandpas, good luck over there!

The mayor of Chicago is now making up for trying to keep the schools open lol.
She’s delaying payments, courts, fines, even certain parking tickets and tow areas. You can park anywhere you want as long it isn’t in a hazadarous area....haven’t been around to see anyone take advantage of that but yeah. |

Yeah I checked it again and realised my cock up but was far too lazy to update it. |
All the bars etc here have finally been told they have to close. A local posted on Facebook this morning saying how incredible it was that a load of people turned out to the pub last night and that it was emotional with everyone hugging and crying.
Is everyone a fucking idiot or am I missing something here? |
Here's a great tip for all the parents that have to work from home and take care of their kids at the same time:
